The Scientific Group Export Successes:

The spread of the HIV epidemic throughout Africa has led to increased requirements for quality instrumentation in all types of laboratories from Referral to District Hospitals throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. Resulting from past placements of instrumentation throughout Zambia, The Scientific Group has now established The Scientific Group Zambia with our two Sales and Service Specialists, Mathew Mwanza and Friday Kampeshi. Mathew and Friday ensure instrumentation is maintained and that reagents are supplied in a timeous manner. As the market leader in the clinical diagnostic field, The Scientific Group is constantly (or regularly) supplying instruments, consumables and service throughout Zambia where we have an installed base of over 600 instruments covering Haematology, Chemistry, Blood Gases and general laboratory equipment.

The success of the ABX Haematology range has spilled over into neighboring Tanzania with the ABX Micros 60, Pentra 60 and Pentra 80 being the instrument of choice for the ARV program. Over 80 have been placed in hospitals throughout the country.

Moving North into Kenya , the focus moved to the large pathology laboratories in Nairobi and Mombassa. Due to the high throughput of samples the instrument of choice to introduce was the Olympus AU series Chemistry Analysers, AU400, AU640 and AU2700. By introducing this new concept in marketing to the customers, The Scientific Group and our Kenyan partners Highchem Pharmaceuticals, have managed to obtain market share in Nairobi with these a nalysers.
